Fatherhood ... Better Late Than Never
Last time in the Leggasea Household, Larana had her second child (Aurora) ...

and basically lost her mind from the stress of basically doing it all on her own.

Star did what she could to help, but let's face it ... she's only a kid.

And Benjamin was being evil ... and it really ticked Larana off. You just shouldn't tick of Larana especially when it's only been hours after childbirth. That's just asking for trouble.

Will Benjamin realize that he's got a family to take care of and that the cure for Cancer is still a long way off? Let's find out!
Isn't it amazing when a smart, intelligent man realizes that he's not the only man in his woman's life? Not that he owns Larana or anything like that ... but still. He knows that Aurora is not his child. He and Larana haven't been intimate in a long time. He's been so busy working on his research. But ... being the "smart" man that he is, he doesn't let that bother him.
As a matter of fact, it was HE who was there for Aurora when she had her first age transition. (Author's note: AMAZING!)

Star didn't let that bother her. She felt no jealousy towards her younger sister. Besides ... she had her mom, and she knew her mom loved her even if her father spent more time with Aurora. Larana was always there when she brought home her A+ report cards.

And she was there to encourage her creativity ... especially when she mastered it.

So Star had no problems letting Aurora have her dad. Someone needed to be around to know that he was still appreciated in a house full of women.
And Aurora appreciated him a lot.

He bathed her when she got dirty ...

He taught her the basics that every toddler needed to know for the future.
How to walk ...

How to talk ...

And how to use the potty so that she could stop wearing diapers.

That's really all a toddler needs ... besides love. And she's got her mother and her sister for more of that.
Larana couldn't figure out why Benjamin seemed more attentive to a stranger's daughter than he was to his own flesh and blood, but since Star didn't seem to mind, she didn't bring it up.
But who's going to be there for the children when the safety and security of their homestead is penetrated by the forces of evil?

Find out next time!

Well it's nice that Benjamin is taking interest in Aurora, but it's a little weird, too, that he's not the same to his own daughter. I hope they start acting like a "family" soon instead of splitting off in twos. Can't wait for the next update. Thanks!
LOL well guess Old Ben there is having father's remorse for not being there for his own biological child LMAO. Gotta love the photo of Star showing her report card with mom in lala land
Well, about time he started caring about the little ones living under the same roof! I like how you give us a small reminder of what happened in the last chapter every time. My memory is compareable to a 100 year old, so I really need it. *lol*
I lost it when you said that Larana was there for Star when she brings home A+ report cards, and the poor child is holding it out to show her Mom, but she's fast asleep! LOL! That was funny!
I can't figure out what Benjamin's problem is...he's so attentive to Aurora. He needs to find that bond with his own daughter, too!

So Benjamin is a good father to his daughter's half-sister, but not so much to his daughter...strange man! Too bad Aurora didn't get the elf ears...and it looks like she got her daddy's black hair instead of her mommy's red too, huh? I can't wait to see what these girls grow up to look like.
