College Bound

Introductions first before I get into the meat. ;O)

Last time, Star and Aurora were kind enough to share with us their educational experiences (and not just schooling).

We now continue with our educational theme by talking about the beginning of Generation 2's college years.

Enjoy!

*sigh* I'm depressed. I'm depressed for lots of reasons actually. First of all ...

I lost my job this evening. I made a STUPID mistake ... stupid, stupid, STUPID! *sigh*

I'm also depressed because it feels like FOREVER since I last said two words to Benjamin. *sigh*

But thankfully ... he realized that I was feeling down in the dumps and gave me a little bit of attention during his latest skill-building session.

I feel so loved ... I think.

And finally ... I'm depressed because my eldest child ... flesh of my flesh ... first child of my legacy ...

... is heading off to college today. Where did the time go? It gives me pleasure (Author's note: remember her goal is to get pleasure in as many forms as possible ... I haven't forgotten about that. ;o}) to know that she gets to do something that I never got a chance to do ... but she's going to be gone for such a long time. *sigh*

I am SO out of here!

I studied like a madwoman to get my scholarships (Author's note: I'll list them all later because I'm at work, and don't have the information in front of me. I'm a naughty girl).

And all of that studying has paid off. Academi Le Tour! Here I come!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Oh ... bye, mom! I'll call when I get settled.

So here I am. Freshman.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I think I grew up rather well, don't you?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

And this is my dorm. After coming from a home with only four people in it, I'm not sure how I'm going to deal with living in a place that's going to have eight people in it. But college is all about experiences, right?

First thing on the agenda ... choose my room. Second thing ... declare my major. And since I'm interested in medicine, I think Biology is my best bet to give me the skills I need to succeed.

Okay ... that's all settled. Now ... it's time to change my look.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I'm practically an adult now, and I need a more adult appearance.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Hmmm ... I think this will work.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Yeah ... that looks good.

After changing my look, I did work on getting a headstart on my term paper, but after a while ... I realized that I needed a break.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Oh, yeah. BULLSEYE!!

I'm so busy in my Freshman year as I try to lay down a good foundation for the rest of my years here at Sim State. All of that work has left me with very little time to find out how everyone is doing at home, so ... I decided to write to Aurora. I want her to come to unversity when she graduates from high school, don'tcha know (alterior motive). ;O) Yeah ... she was a pain as we were growing up at home, but I'm practically an adult now, and she'll be where I am in a few years. I've got to prepare her for it (great sister that I am).

So ...

Dear Rora,

College life so far is okay. I've been spending most of my time studying, but you know how I am. Besides, I found a dormmate who likes to study just as much as I do, and we have made it our duty to make sure the rest of the dorm stays on top of their schoolwork. This is Lisa Creelman. She's great.

But she's not the only one. I'm meeting so many new and interesting people here.

And speaking of meeting "interesting" people ... I've noticed the strangest thing around campus. I've seen more than a couple of people walking around campus with these dark jackets with our school's mascot (The Laughing Llama) on the breast pocket, but every time I try to ask about the jackets, every single one of them directs to conversation back to me. I've never talked about myself so much before.

They wanna know about my skintone and texture ... not to mention my eyes. But what could I tell them? That mom is an alien from another planet? That would probably go over like a ton of bricks. But there aren't that many people wandering around with purple skin. Green skin is one thing, but purple? It's a bit awkward. But then again ... I get the feeling that they think it's cool.

In the meantime,

Lisa and I are becoming the best of friends. I never had that many close friends in grade school and high school, but college is a whole other world.

We both really get into the school spirit when we're together. Cheering is lots of fun ... and aerobically fitting (not that I'm in bad shape or anything).

And oh! How do you like my new outfit? Schnazzy, right? I figured that I needed to look a bit more professional being in the medical career track.

Anyway, Rora ... I gotta go. I've got finals coming up and I need to study. Give mom and dad my love.

Star

And that's all for now! Next update ... Sophomore Year ... and something "Secret". ;O)

Star's makeover suits her! I like the pic where she's throwing darts. That looks cool. :) I wonder what mischief she'll be up to in the future... *ponders*

Ooh, I like Star's new hairdo...very Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction. I wonder what's going on with those "Jacket" people. Glad Star's doing so well in school and meeting so many new people. Can't wait for the next update!
